Halff Projects Deliver Award-Winning Results Across Regions
Several Halff projects in both Texas and Arkansas were recognized through regional awards programs, reflecting Halff’s continued commitment to delivering innovative, high-impact solutions that strengthen infrastructure and enhance community spaces.
Fun fact: The park is named after Stephen “Wood” Woodring, who passed away in August 2020 and had served as the district’s operator for 23 years. Today, this popular park destination is already serving as a model for other projects in the 13-county region.
Stephen Woodring Park in Houston was recognized by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Parks and Natural Areas Awards program as a model for park planning and implementation across the region. The project integrates sustainable site solutions with updated amenities, creating a vibrant green space that supports recreation, education and long-term community use.

In Arkansas, three projects earned recognition from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Engineering Excellence Awards. The Gravel Ridge SID #213 Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements and the Fort Smith Regional Airport aircraft arresting system each received gold awards, while Faulkner Lake Road earned an honor award in transportation. These projects not only support future growth and enhance safety for the communities they’re within, but highlight Halff’s dedication to complex infrastructure solutions that improve environmental performance at the same time.
